Journalist Kurniawati Kamarudin made Bernama
proud when she received an award at the Malaysian Institute of Planners (MIP)
-- THINKCITY MyPLACE AWARDS 2017 tonight.
Her article “Komuniti hidupkan kembali Sungai
Bunus’ received special mention as the only award given in the Best Placemaking
Article in Print Media category.
She received a certificate and plaque from
Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government Ministy Deputy Secretary-General Dr
Mary Wong Lai Lin at the awards ceremony held tonight at Double Tree by Hilton.
The event marked the end of National
Planning Festival 2017.
MIP said it was encouraged and
overwhelmed to see the entries received for this inaugural edition of MIP-Think
City MyPLACE Awards with 59 entries in total.
“All entries carry its own values and
uniqueness to their own communities. The effort and willingness shown in all
entries has demonstrated the commitment and passion in creating a good spaces.
“It is our hope that this MIP-Think City
MyPLACE Awards will encourage everyone concern to initiate and strengthen their
own initiatives in creating more public places that will significantly
contribute to liveability of our cities,” it added.
The next MIP-Think City MyPLACE Awards will
be held in 2019.
