They
did not win the major prizes but captured an even bigger reward of a treasured
meeting with former boss Abdul Rahman Yeop Norodin or affectionately known as
‘Roger’.
While
the other hunters, returned to Kuala Lumpur on Sunday, they decided to stay
another night in Kuala Terengganu and head back to KL yesterday.
“Actually
Fizah yang teringat pasal Roger and nak jengok dia di Dungun on the way back to
KL Isnin semalam,” said Hawa.
“But
one of our team member dah balik so three of us -- me, Fizah and Kishore yang
jengok Roger,” said Hawa.
“Masa
nampak Roger and cara dia bergurau, I cuma terfikir "he is back", sebab dia ingat kami
semua,” she said.
Although
it was a brief meeting, Hawa was happy to see 67 year-old Roger, retired Executive Editor of the General News Service (GNS) and later pioneer director of Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) News Network (NNN).
“He
was smiling and happy to see us. Bila tanya, ingat tak? Dia kata ingat,” said
Hawa who was impressed with the house.
“It
was a beautiful house, well kempt with beautiful flowers and plants in the
garden.
“His
wife Puan Siti Zaleha was lovely, told us of those who had came to visit.
Hawa
recalled Roger telling them how the name came about.
“He
said dulu when he answered the phone he always said Roger for a yes just like
the army dulu-dulu.
“Dia
yang start bercerita to us so I think he remembers a lot now,”said Hawa.
Along with a photo she posted on Facebook, Hafizah described her happiness to see Roger.
"It is so good to be able to meet Roger, our mentor. Happy to see that he is doing well and back to his old self. InshaAllah will visit him again with the rest of the gang," she said.
