On
vacation in Australia, International News Service sub-editor Shanty Devi
Ayadurai sent a WhatsApp message to office colleagues this afternoon wishing
them a blessed new Islamic year.
Along
with it, she shared photos of the “beautiful sight of the moon and star” with the
hope that they would enjoy them.
The
photos were taken in Ipswich, a small town in Brisbane, where Shanty
is on holiday with her two sisters.
”My
Muslim friend sent me Awal Muharram wishes....our friendship goes beyond race
religion.
“I
caught sight of the skies last night so I snapped it on camera and sent it to
her and decided to send it to all of you too..
“The
feelings are beyond description...all I can say is the Creator is so kind to
human beings...
“Nature
is a gift to us humans whatever our beliefs,” she said.
Shanti
said the holiday has been “very relaxing”
“....skies
are blue...Aussies are friendly and the strawberries are great (and cheap),” she
said.
“The
people I met so far were very helpful with directions info about places etc,” she
said.
Shanty
said she was fortunate that they managed to obtain their visa rather fast after
applying it online.
“We
got it 10 mintutes before they closed the counter...phew!” she said.
