Having
to spent months recuperating from chronic gout last year, Minggu Simon Lhasa
would obviously be in a jovial mood as he celebrates his 50th
birthday today.
Last
year he celebrated his birthday in his hometown Sibu – the first time in 20
years, after he was hospitalised in
June.
His
movement were limited and had to used a wheelchair to move around.
But
he has since recovered and came back to work at Bernama News Channel (BNC).
He
thanked well-wishers and related his feelings on Facebook.
“Thank you for all the
birthday wishes.
How time goes by very fast.
Now half a century gone.
All kind of memories suddenly
flash in front as I recall those years past.
There have been a few times
close calls but hey today I am still standing.
The untold scandals, the
adventures, the good and bad days.
Ahhhh 3650 days and I will be
a pensioner.
How all those naughty friends
now became the best fathers and mothers.
All secrets forever locked.
All have been memories to be
treasured in the future when this body unable to look for new adventures.
Well this just the ramblings
of a happy man who despite challenges managed to past half century milestone.
How long more I don’t care.
Whatever remaining days ahead are
my bonus.”
