A total of 160 media representatives from 24 local media agencies will take part in BIMB Holdings Bhd (BHB)’s media treasure hunt, now into its 7th series, this time to explore the beauty of Perak.
The Media Heritage Hunt 2017 to be flag off tomorrow is held in collaboration with the national news agency BERNAMA, the country’s leading Islamic financial services group said in a statement today.
Themed ‘A Drive for Conservation', the hunt would track some of the most important treasured places in Perak as well as provide participants to partake in several activities related to local trades specifically from the state, it said.
BHB’s newly-appointed Chief Executive Officer, Khairul Kamarudin, described the media hunt as an important platform to express gratitude to local media agencies for their support and extensive coverage to the group including Bank Islam Malaysia Bhd, Syarikat Takaful Malaysia Bhd and BIMB Securities Sdn Bhd.
“At the same time, we also aim to create value through the promotion of the local trades from Perak as it can elevate the economic status of these entrepreneurs which indirectly contribute to the development and wealth creation of the small and medium industries of the state," he added.
His appointment took effect on Wednesday, August 9. He is also CEO of BHB's wholly-owned subsidiary, Bank Islam Malaysia Bhd, a position he assumed on June 14, 2017.
The 7th BHB-BERNAMA Media Hunt will depart from Bank Islam Branch in Sungai Buloh and will end at a leading hotel in Ipoh.
