Arabi Media Group, an Arabic media network, is keen to work with the Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) to bridge the information gap between Malaysians and citizens of the Arab world.
Arabi Magazine Vice-General Manager Datuk Nurulhidayah Ahmad Zahid said the collaboration included the sharing of news content to be published through Arabi Magazine.
"This cooperation will be a platform for the two agencies to exchange news content, including topics involving economy and tourism.
"I hope this cooperation will also assist Malaysia to be known and help draw Middle Eastern investors to invest in our country," she said during a meeting with the Bernama management at Wisma Bernama.
Present during the meeting was Bernama International News Service Deputy Editor-in-Chief, Ahmad Zukiman Zain, Yemen Ambassador to Malaysia, Adel Mohamed BaHamid, Arabi Media Group General Director, Waleed Mohammed Muharram and Head of Bernama Arabic Desk Muhamad Razee Hasan.
Meanwhile, Adel said with Malaysia gearing up to be the region's education hub, the magazine could highlight education opportunities for Arab students.
"For us, we have a lot of scholarships in Arab countries but we are looking for a good place for education and also a safe environment for our students...never found a destination like Malaysia and this magazine can show the educational opportunities in this country," he said.
The printed magazine is distributed in limited quantities to 5-star hotels, Arabic restaurants and shops, hospitals and tourism centres and can be accessed by the public via its website at www.arabi-group.com.
