As staff of the International News Service gathered for a small, impromptu 'makan' to mark International Womens' Day, the female members took turn to speak about their hope and aspiration.
In general, they pledged to strive towards doing better in their work while striking a balance with family life.
One went a step further when she declared: "I hope I can become the editor-in-chief!"
But she was quick to add that it was just a jest.

With the current situation of having more women coming in for editorial opportunities, the prospect of having a woman as the top editor cannot be dismissed.
Of the overall 901 staff in Bernama now, 479 are women. Many are holding senior positions or heading the various units in the organisation.
The day started on a joyous note when Helmi brought a layered-cake (kek lapis) from Sarawak much to the delight of the female office-mates.
He said it was a coincidence though that he ordered the cake from a friend this morning without realising about the significant of the day.
The editor, Nor Faridah Abdul Rashid brought further cheer when she came in with a raspberry cheesecake, capping a sweet occasion in honour of the women.
