A thank-you note from GM...

Dear colleagues,
Many special thanks to you for helping me make the BERNAMA National GST Conference a major success.
My heartfelt gratitude to you for going the extra mile to make things happen.
Let us find ways to make things better for BERNAMA.

Best regards always,
Datuk Yong

The two-day conference at the DoubleTree Hotel was closed by the Royal Malaysian Customs Department Director-General Datuk Sri Khazali Ahmad, who advised companies and businesses to register and be GST compliant at the soonest.
Businesses, especially small and medium enterprises (SMEs) should register early to take advantage of the E-Voucher Subsidy Programme.

Early registrants will be given a RM1,000 E-Voucher subsidy to purchase GST compliant accounting software from suppliers who have been certified by the Customs Department.
"Do it now, when it is still quiet. Don't wait until everybody comes to register…at that time, you may perhaps face problems in getting a response from the Customs Department," he said.
The two-day conference was jointly organised by Bernama and Tax Advisory And Management Services Sdn Bhd. (TAMS)
Businesses offering goods and services have to be registered for the GST if their annual sales turnover exceeds the prescribed RM500,000.
