Editor-in-Chief
Datuk Zulkefli Salleh was caught off guard when the staff threw a surprise
party to celebrate his 57th birthday.
The
staff had gathered in the editorial meeting room on the first floor to listen
to a briefing on a mobile service scheme.
Just
as the briefing was ending, Datuk Zulkefli walked in and took his usual seat at
the head of the table.
It
was then his secretary Siti Balqish Rosli brought in a “Red Velvet” crèam cake and
placed it on the glass table.
She
had specially baked the cake for the
occasion.
The
staff sang the birthday song for Datuk Zulkefli and congratulated him.
A
surprised Datuk Zulkefli said in jest that he thought they wanted to complain
about the phone service when he was requested to come to the room.
There
was no speech except for birthday wishes from the staff .
He
thanked the staff for their thoughts.
Asked
if he had any birthday wish, he said: “Good health”.
He had also received a stream of birthday wishes via Bernama-ED-Team WhatsApp and Facebook.
