Birthday bachelor looking for a girlfriend…

Celebrating his 45^th birthday today, our Bangkok correspondent Minggu Simon Lhasa thought not many would notice about it.

“Thank you for all those happy birthday wishes. Obviously, the best gift and achievement one can have as life gets a step older is happines. That is the thing that I find now, more laughter and more smile than in my younger days and appreciating it,” the bachelor wrote on Facebook.

Asked what he did to celebrate the occasion, Minggu said he went for a Japanese buffet at midnight and returned home at 2am.

“.. you may want to know what my wish is…well, to get a girlfriend because many whom I’ve met are surprised that  I don’t have a girlfriend despite being here for three months, ha ha ha,” he said.

What is the woman of his dream?

“The one that can make me smile and laugh more… Thai only qualified .. ha ha ha,” he said.

Asked if he was serious about looking for a Thai girlfriend, Minggu said:

“Taklah serius.. but we never know what happen.. after all there is another 365 days before my next birthday ha ha ha.”

“We never know what will happen .. we say something, something else happen .. jodoh dan takdir di tangan tuhan,” he said

Is he coping well with the new environment?

“Sedang dalam proses.. cuma dari segi kerja mencabar sebab bahasa rasminya Thai dan semua cakap Thai .. kadang-kadang Inggeris dia kita kena teka.

How about learning Thai?

“Ada juga .. perkataan pertama paling tahu .. singha ..(bir dia) dan kedua satani to pai .. (next station) sebab selalu naik train,” he said.

Thai language class?

“Sedang fikir dulu .. sebab orang asyik kata bahasa Thai susah nak faham dalam kelas.”
