This
advertisement appeared in The Star today to publicize a National Goods and
Services Tax (GST) Conference jointly organized by Bernama and a tax consultancy on July 10 and 11.
Finance
Minister II Datuk Seri Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah will deliver the keynote address
at the conference to be held at the Doubletree by Hilton Kuala Lumpur, The
Intermark.
The
theme of the conference is “Transforming Malaysia Into A GST-Compliant Economy”
.
Expert speakers will be drawn from the Ministry of Finance, Royal Malaysian
Customs Department and key industry leaders.
Attendees
will hear first-hand from top government officials on the implementation of the
GST scheduled for April 1, 2015 as well as feedback from key industry players
in terms of their road map in addressing the GST.
Given
that the GST is not fully understood by large sections of the business and
non-business communities, the conference will be a timely opportunity to get a
better understanding of an important development in the country’s tax regime.
The conference is jointly organized by Bernama and Tax Advisory and Management Services Sdn Bhd (TAMS).
