Bowling strikes...

Excitement filled the air as contestants aimed to bowl as many strikes as the Bernama Bowling League 2017 got into its second round yesterday at KL Megalanes Endah Parade.
The sheer joy of seeing all ten of those pins disappear from the lane was something many would hoped for.
Some 46 bowlers including Bernama General Manager Datuk Zulkefli Salleh competed in the almost four-hour encounter from 10.30am.
Every contestant must bowl six games in each round held monthly with the final round of 12 games slated for November.
"We hibernate during puasa (fasting month)," said league secretary Mohd Noor Atan, who is manager of Media and Foreign Newswires Unit.
"Last year 35 participants qualified for the final round...we made a rule that each has to play a minimum of six rounds to qualify for the final round.
"This means they can miss three rounds but if they miss any round their ranking will drop," he said.
The competition attracted 49 participants last year while 53 had registered for the 2017 league.
The contest is still open for Kelab Kakitangan Bernama (KKB) members with nine rounds and the grand finale to go.
The registration fee is RM10 and another RM40 for t-shirt. The monthly game fee is fixed at RM38.
"We want to attract more especially newcomers...we have people from various departments and units in the league," said Mohd Noor, a top bowler himself.
He said it was "very encouraging" that the  general manager was participating in the current league.
"At his age, he still has the endurance...six games can be quite taxing," he said.
After two rounds of competition, Mohd Nazrin Abu Hassan is in top spot followed by Baharuddin Jalil (2nd place), Abdul Halim Hafiz (3rd), Zaharin Mat Noor (4th) and Mohd Noor Atan (5th).
