Labuan Corporation shows appreciation ...

Bernama and eight other media practitioners from the print, electronic and online received certificates of appreciation from Labuan Corporation (LC) at a press appreciation ceremony on the island today. 
LC chief executive officer Azhar Ahmad presented the certificates to the newsmen as a token of appreciation on their coverage of various programmes and activities of the local authority.
Bernama's correspondent in Labuan, Jailani Hasan received the certificate on behalf of the agency.
The other media organisations were Radio Televisyen Malaysia Labuan, Labuan Information Department, New Straits Times, Oversea Chinese Daily News, Asia Times, Sea Hua Daily News, Daily Express and online portal, Labuan Times.
Azhar said the corporation would continue to strengthen the good rapport with media practitioners in the interest of the people.
"As Labuan is transforming into a tourism sector, it is high time we work together to promote the island aggressively," he said.
Jailani said the appreciation was a result of close cooperation between Bernama and LC.
"Alhamdulillah since we set up Bernama's branch in Labuan, we managed to be known and the people felt the Bernama's presence due to the fact that Bernama has received a number of accolades and appreciation from a number of government organisations as well as NGOs," he said.
On the events usually covered by Bernama Labuan includes scheduled events from government, corporate bodies, chambers of commerce, foreign ambassadors visiting Labuan, oil and gas sector, tourism, politics, sports, non-scheduled events of crime and financial issues," he said.
