Held for the first-time, the
Bernama Creative Video Competition could be considered a success with
participation from staff and outsiders.
Judges were shown the
clippings today as they evaluate the content to choose the winners.
A total of 24 entries from
Bernama and 25 from outsiders was judged by the three-man panel comprising
Editor-in-Chief Datuk Zulkefli Salleh and his deputies, Datuk Zakaria Abd Wahab
(General News Service) and Ahmad Zukiman Zain (International News Service).
The competition which ran
from July 1 until August 24 was opened to all
Malaysian citizens above 12
years old and residing in the country.
Participants were required
to submit entries that convey positive message to the public based on the
following themes:
i. Do Not Litter
ii. Say No To Smoking
iii. Spirit of
Neighbourliness, and
iv. Road Safety.
Bernama Portal Services
Division Manager Mastura Hassan said the contest, to be followed with a
Merdeka-related video competition, had generated encouraging support.
“When we enquired from an
outside party which had jointly organized such a competition involving schools,
the entries they received was at most 25,” she said.
She said the top three
winners from Bernama will receive their prizes during Bernama’s Open House
event at the Grand Seasons Hotel in Kuala Lumpur this Thursday.
The winners from among the
outsiders would be notified to receive their prizes at a later date.
The prizes include cash and
hamper with the top winner in both categories get to stay at the Lake View
Belum Rainforest Resort.
