Oman News Agency (ONA) is keen to forge
closer cooperation with Bernama, said
its director-general and editor-in-chief Dr Mohammed Mubarak
Al-Araimi.
Apart from news, the two agencies can share experience and
knowledge to face common challenges, he said during a visit to Wisma Bernama
today.
“This visit signals the start of a closer cooperation between our
agencies,” said Dr Mohammed Mubarak, who was accompanied by ONA news editor
Zuhair Shahab and Acting Director of Technical Affairs Hafidh Nasser Al-Sharji.
He said the cooperation between the two agencies would complement
the close ties between Malaysia and Oman.
The Omani delegation was given a briefing on Bernama by Deputy Editor-in-Chief (International News Service) Ahmad Zukiman Zain.

The visitors were also given a tour of Bernama Radio24, Bernama
TV and Editorial Department including
the Arabic Desk as well as the Non-Aligned Movement, NAM News Network (NNN),
run by Bernama.
A member of the delegation, Zuhair described the visit as good
exposure to share experience.
“Based on the briefing and viewing today, I find Bernama
as a versatile news agency which is different from others.
“The services provided by Bernama is wide because it covers
audio-visual, radio, online news and photographs…I hope Bernama will continue
to be successful,” he said.
The visit is a follow-up to Oman’s Information Minister Dr Abdulmunim Mansour
Said Al-Hasani’s visit to Malaysia last April to enhance information
cooperation between the two countries.
The minister had also visited Bernama and was impressed with its
multi-platform news and information services.
