Noted author and journalist Ms Anya Schiffrin of the United States is scheduled to give a talk on investigative journalism at Wisma Bernama on Monday.
Schiffrin,
51, who is the director of the media and communications programme at Columbia
University's School of International and Public Affairs, has spent 10 years
working as a journalist in Europe and Asia.
The
luncheon talk, hosted by the National Press Club (NPC) Malaysia in
collaboration with the Embassy of the United States in Kuala Lumpur, will be
held at Bernama’s Centre for Excellence,
said NPC president Mokhtar Hussain.
Schiffrin,
who is the editor of the recently published book, 'Global Muckraking - 100
Years of Investigative Journalism from Around the World', will also take
questions from the floor, he said.
Mokhtar
said guests at the talk would include senior and junior journalists and
students of journalism from a number of universities.
Schiffrin
is also the editor of 'Bad News: How America's Business Press Missed the Story
of the Century' as well as a co-editor, with Eamon Kircher-Allen, of 'From
Cairo to Wall Street: Voices from the Global Spring'.
