Bernama Receives Delegation From Indonesia's Metro TV

The Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) today received a delegation of five top officials from Indonesian news channel Metro TV.
The delegation was led by Metro TV managing director Andre Burhanudin as part of their four-day visit to Malaysia.
It was to reciprocate the Communication and Multimedia Ministry's visit to the television station during the Indonesian General Election (Pemilu) recently.
Their arrival was greeted by the ministry's deputy secretary-general, Datuk Mohid Mohamed, before a briefing and two-way discussion with Mohid and Bernama Editor-in-Chief Datuk Zulkefli Salleh.
Among the highlight of the talks were future challenges of media organisations, especially in producing audio visual news.
Andre said his organisation was interested to work with Bernama as it has a reputation as a credible news agency.
"There is so much room for cooperation as both organisations are in the same industry. Besides that, there is not much difference in culture and language which makes the prospect so much higher," he said.
Also present were Metro TV Deputy Editor-in-Chief Najwa Shihab, Bernama Deputy Editor-in-Chief (General News Service) Datuk Zakaria Abd Wahab, Bernama TV Chief Executive Officer Datuk Ibrahim Yahya and Deputy Editor-in-Chief (Audio Visual Service) Mokhtar Hussin.
The delegation, which arrived in Malaysia on Saturday, also paid a courtesy call on Communication and Multimedia Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek yesterday and was expected to fly back to Indonesia tomorrow.
Metro TV, established in 2000, is a 24-hour news station in Indonesia.
