KL Converge 2014 got underway at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) today as Malaysia eyes propelling itself as a prominent digital media and communications hub in the region.
The three-day event centres on the notions of 'see', 'touch', 'feel', 'hear', 'show' and 'speak', translated across various thought-provoking sessions as well as pavilions from a number of countries and corporations.
The multi-platform creative industry conference and exhibition is premised on the convergence of communications, broadcasting, digital technology and creative content like films, animation, music and drama.
Organised by the Communications and Multimedia Ministry, Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission and the National Film Development Corporation (Finas), KL Converge was opened by Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin this afternoon.
Also taking place is Content Malaysia 2014 designed to equip local audio-visual and content creation professionals with all the tools to maximise their potential and business edge.
KL Converge also features sessions on applications development, gaming, cooperation between broadcasters and marketing of music through the use of technology.
Knowledge and other opportunities can further be gleaned from sessions focusing on how to sell or pitch a documentary and developing business partnerships.
