The www.bernama.com official
website of Bernama began "live" transmission of BernamaTV from 10 am
today as part of the national news agency's content enhancement efforts.
The "live" feed will feature all of BernamaTV's news bulletins in
four languages - Bahasa Malaysia, English, Mandarin and Tamil - as well as
other programmes like talk shows and documentaries currently aired via Astro's
Channel 502.
"This allows BernamaTV to be seen all over the world as opposed to only
satellite TV previously and complement our much sought-after text and stills
pictures content on www.bernama.com," said Bernama general manager Datuk Yong
Soo Heong.
"We are working towards making www.bernama.com more accessible and
presentable on smartphones, smart televisions and tablets, thus making
BernamaTV accessible anytime, anywhere," he said.
In addition to BernamaTV, Yong said, www.bernama.com would also offer a sports
video channel as another expanded offering for sports fans.
This sports channel will show highlights and results of major sporting events
around the world.
"These improvements are part of our endeavour to improve our news and
information dissemination as well as to further increase audience share in both
www.bernama.com and BernamaTV.
"This will certainly add to their attractiveness for would-be advertisers
who may have overlooked our potential and reach in the past," Yong said.
