“I
love this place…Bernama is an organisation with a heart,” says Rita who turns
60 on July 4.
She attended her last Management Committee meeting at Wisma Bernama today with Bernama CEO Datuk Zulkefli Salleh presenting her a letter of appreciation for her dedication.
Rita will cherish the continuous stint of 24 years and six months in Bernama, having
seen and became part of its transformation into a multi-platform media entity.
She had started much earlier in Bernama as a customer service executive at Bernama
AP-Dow Jones - Telerate in June 1984.
“I
was one of the first three commercial staff,” she said.
In
December 1989, Rita left for a short stint at MPC Sdn Bhd before joining INC
Sdn. Bhd, a subsidiary of Tabung Haji from June 1991 to December 1993.
She
was back in Bernama as Product Manager from January 1994 and retiring now as
Senior Manager - Media & Database Service.
Rita
said she will devote more time to gardening and lots of social work during her retirement.
Asked
about her advice to her staff, she said: “Give your best to the organisation.”
